Chapter 1857 Bryce’s Heartlessness

Fortunately, the housekeeper was there to stop Leah from striking the lawyer.

Ian was a little surprised when he heard about this because he thought that Leah should’ve expected it since there

had been many clues and mentions about the will. However, even if she couldn’t accept it, her prior mental

preparation should have allowed her to remain calm. That was the reason why he was beyond shocked that she

was still the same and hadn’t changed at all.

Shrugging, Ian replied, “The old man should have left something for her. It's impossible for him to give her nothing.”

After all, she had been with Bryce for so many years, so it would not look good on Bryce’s part if he really didn’t

allocate something for her.

Sean agreed. “He gave her some money. Although it's not a lot, it's enough for her to live comfortably for the rest

of her life.”

Ian nodded, and then asked again, “What about Simon? What did he leave Simon with?”

At the mention of this, Sean sighed. Bryce had left money for Leah, but he was so cruel to Simon that he left

nothing for Simon. However, Simon was different from Leah. If one removed the relationship that Leah and Bryce

had as husband and wife, they would be total strangers.

Yet, Simon was Bryce’s son no matter what. Therefore, Bryce couldn’t be too heartless toward Leah as he would be

dragged across the mud for it, but he could do so toward Simon. If the father was cruel to his son, the most that

outsiders would gossip about was that Bryce didn’t leave Simon with anything due to his deep disappointment.

Ian waited for Sean to finish before frowning. “I see. It shows that the old man was really disappointed in Simon in

the end.”

Once again, Sean agreed and added, “In the previous will, it seems that he did leave something for Simon.

Although it was not much, it would be enough for him to live well in the future. I think that the distribution of the will

was changed later. I think it’s after Simon smeared you.”

In the last situation, the Morgan Family should have banded together against the outside world, but Simon couldn't

control his temper and constantly smeared Ian, which was why the public continuously gossiped about the Morgan

Family scandals.

At that time, Bryce was in the hospital and Simon didn't visit at all. Bryce had already harbored negative opinions

about him and combined with such a bad attitude from him, Bryce probably could no longer take it and

immediately removed Simon from the list of beneficiaries.

Ian didn't ask how much Bryce had left him; he merely exchanged a few more words with Sean and said that he

would hire a lawyer to talk to Sean because his own work arrangements rendered him unable to leave in the short

term.

Sean understood that Ian's work had already been suspended before, so there was a huge backlog for Ian to clear.

Now that he was on the right track, the man must have been busy. Everyone was busy as adults and daily life was

full of all crappy things.

Even Sean was the same.

Thus, he replied that it didn't matter and that he would wait for Ian's lawyer to come over. The two of them chatted

for a bit more before hanging up.

By now, Cindy had already woken up, but she didn’t open her eyes. She snuggled in Ian's arms and asked, “What's

the matter? What did you say on the phone?”

Ian answered, “Sean told me about the will and asked me to get a lawyer to deal with it.”

She slowly opened her eyes and it was obvious that she was still a little drowsy. “Did he say what the will contains?”

“He didn't tell me on the phone. He said he will send me the contents of the will.”

As soon as he finished saying this, the phone beside him buzzed and vibrated from the messages that Sean sent.

Thus, he checked the phone to see that Sean had indeed sent the contents of the will.

After Ian stared at it for a while, Cindy reached out and took the phone. She sat up slowly before she placed the

phone aside after reading the content of the will. “Old Mr. Morgan is a sensible man.”

He smiled. “He had been insensible all his life, so what's the use of being sensible about things toward his final

days?”

The biggest beneficiary of Bryce's will was Sean in which all the company shares and the old house were given to

him.
