Chapter 1923 A Little Chat

They went straight for a room in the restaurant without even bothering to lay low.

The waitress recognized Ian when she was leading them to the room. However, she was professional enough to

stay calm. Even so, she muttered to Ian with excitement, “Are you Ian?”

Ian smiled at the waitress quietly, but that was already an answer in and of itself.

The waitress pursed her lips shyly. A while later, she stammered, “C-Can I get your autograph? I won’t disturb you.

You can give it when you order your food.”

“Sure.”

They went into the room, and since the waitress had a pen and paper on her at all times, Ian gave her his

autograph before he made his order. The waitress was delighted, and she kept thanking him.

After the waitress went out, Cindy leaned against the chair and chuckled. “See? Most of your fans are well-

mannered.”

Ian nodded. “I wonder how they’re gonna praise you after this.”

Cindy rested her chin on her palm, then chuckled. “Me? They should be praising you. You were being so nice.”

Ian sighed. “Didn’t you notice? When she was talking to me, she kept glancing at you. She paid most of her

attention to you.”

Cindy arched her eyebrow, and she smiled quietly.

The same waitress came in to serve them their food, and she seemed delighted. This time, she only said, “Enjoy

your meal.”

After the waitress went out, Cindy said, “Do you think she treats other customers like that as well?”

Ian pursed his lips and nodded. “I guess so. They’re trained, and their attitude is great.”

“I see,” Cindy said. “Let’s dig in.”

They talked about Yulia during dinner, but Ian didn’t bring up Yulia’s visit earlier so as to not worry Cindy. It was not

like they talked about anything useful anyway. There’s no point bringing that up.

Cindy looked worried. “Yulia said she wanted to share some resources with Aurora, but now, she’s trying to cut off

your work to spite you. That doesn’t seem like her. I wonder what she’s planning.”

Yulia probably noticed Ian’s aversion toward her, but she still wanted to give the best resources to Aurora. It was

obvious that she was trying to pull Ian over using soft persuasion. There was no point in her pulling this stunt

because right after that, she fell out with Ian again. Her inconsistent behavior puzzled people.

Ian remembered that Yulia told him that it was a misunderstanding. Maybe there is a misunderstanding, but I don’t

really care. It does not matter. He nodded. “Ignore her. Even if it is a misunderstanding, she must have said

something to trigger it. Those directors are her friends, so they must have guessed what her true intention was.”

Hm, he has a point. Cindy took a deep breath. “This is more complicated than I thought.” She knew the industry

was complex, but now that she had truly come in contact with it, she knew she had been too naive. The talk about

Yulia stopped a moment later, and the dinner went well, since all the problematic individuals weren’t brought up.

Ian even told her what happened to Sean as a joke.

Cindy laughed. “I used to think he’s a scary strict person, but now I feel sorry for him.”
