Chapter 2081 What Do You Mean This Is ‘Cheaper’?

As usual, Ian looked solemn with his cap and mask on.

After they entered the jewelry store, he turned to Cindy and apologized, "I'm only now realizing how careless I have

been about this. We are now married, but I haven't even gotten you a ring yet."

It was then that she realized she had completely forgotten about it as well. "It is not like a ring is a necessity. I don't

really mind," she answered him in a hushed voice.

Rings were overrated in Cindy's opinion as they were merely accessories whose only purpose was to be worn on

fingers. Others might find them good to look at, but to her, they only stood in her way.

A ring would hinder her work regardless of it being cooking or washing.

Other than that, it would be a headache if the wearer of an expensive ring were to bump it onto a hard surface or

lose it.

Humans shouldn't be slaves to material; we have to live for ourselves!

It was probably due to her thorough thinking that she never bothered herself with rings.

Ian still brought Cindy to the counter despite her rejection. No matter how open-minded Cindy was, to him, wedding

rings were something that married couples should have as long as they could afford to buy them.

She knew what he was thinking, and that it would only make things harder for him if she continued to stop him from

buying them rings. After that, they walked to the counter and started looking around. A few rings with big diamonds

were the first ones which caught his eyes, so he had the shop assistant take a few of them out of the display for

Cindy to try on.

Her eyebrows began to furrow together as she looked at the oversized diamonds. They didn't look pretty at all to

her.

The fact that she was a clothing designer could be the reason why she couldn't understand a jewelry designer's

vision. She felt the ones with comically big diamonds were outdated and horrible to look at while resembling

something that only a tasteless nouveau riche would wear.

Cindy shook her head and started to browse the store on her own before her gaze eventually landed on a ring.

"Show me this one," she said to the shop assistant.

It was a ring that didn't have a big diamond on it. Instead, the middle of the ring was adorned by clatersals that

formed a tiny circle.

The attendant immediately took the ring out for Cindy to try on. At the same time, she kept showering praises

about the ring, one of them being that the ring was a product of good craftsmanship.

Cindy was quite satisfied with the ring that she had picked, after which she proceeded to check the men's rings

before selecting one for Ian to try on.

Instead of choosing matching rings, what she did was select rings that she thought looked nice with its different

designs.

Ian knew that she was a frugal person, but seeing that she had picked the ring with the smaller diamonds, he

couldn't help but think that she could have been more generous at choosing her wedding ring. He thought that she

intentionally went for one that was cheaper in order to help him save his money.

However, the duo had a fairly different grasp on what 'cheaper' meant. What was cheap to him was enough to

make Cindy's eyes jump out of their sockets in shock.

With a low voice, she hissed, "My dear, have you gone crazy? What do you mean by this is 'cheaper'? Did you even

see the price?!"

The ring's price was of a staggering amount that could easily equate to an average family's expenses for years.

There could even be a leftover sum after that.

"Let's be more practical," Ian replied with a shake of his head. "It is the thought that counts. We have the money to

buy it, anyway."

Cindy soon began to think that she could purchase an entire suite at the place where she now lived with this

amount of money. Not only that, she could probably buy enough furniture and necessities to store in that suite of

hers.

Indeed, people with different income levels would have different ideas on spending habits.

It still seemed unbelievable to her that she was now in a jewelry shop to pick out a big diamond ring when she had

to make calls to her friends just to borrow a few thousand dollars a few years ago.

Furthermore, the ring that she had selected was not a cheap one. If it was her in the past, she wouldn't even have

dreamt of such a ring.

It was normal for people's mentality to change over time.

She herself had never thought that she would have such a life one day.

After Ian paid for the rings, they immediately wore it on their respective fingers before leaving the store.

Cindy had a feeling that the shop assistant had already recognized Ian, but she probably didn't mention anything

about it because of how professional the store's management had trained their employees to be.

The shop assistant probably will not tell anyone in the future since she remained mum earlier, Cindy thought.

She could guess that it wasn't the first time the shop had encountered a celebrity at their store. There might have

even been those more famous than Ian who went to purchase jewelry from the same store.

The couple swung their arms as their hands were intertwined. After a while, she began to peek at the ring on her

finger. "I might get arthritis from this. This thing is way too expensive. I feel like I need to get my arm insured

because of this ring," she grumbled.
