Kai clicked his tongue in disapproval. He said, “To have you being so mindful of her must be scary. I have to say,
Madelyn must be really unlucky. Meeting you has truly ruined her life.
“Did you prank Ethan because you were vengeful of him for taking the Azure Corporation stock
and dismissing your position?” Kai continued to ask.
Zach did not reply, so Kai treated it as him agreeing by default. As for being an enemy to such a
devious person, Kai was glad Zach and him were on the same side. Zach was so calculative that
Kai was worried he would be just a pawn among his schemes. When comparing their
cunningness, he was way out of his league.
After asking him, Kai stretched his hand and said, “Shouldn’t you give me back the remaining
drug? I spent quite a lot of money to research this. The fifty milliliters is all that I have of it.”

Madelyn was excited and agitated. This was the first time she took a plane to leave the country. Everything below
the plane seemed so small through the plane window. Before getting on the
plane, she called Professor Monet and sent him the hotel’s address.
Mya and Kennedy also sent her messages, which Madelyn had replied to them, respectively. The flight from
Ventropolis to Paris started at twelve o’clock, and it was a nine–hour flight. By the time they arrived, it was already
after nine.
A local from Paris came to pick them up. She was close to forty years old, a blue–eyed, blonde- haired woman who
could speak Venturian. She introduced herself as Ariel, the manager of Bastion Hotel. After getting in the car, they
departed to the hotel.
Madelyn’s English was okay and sufficient for everyday conversation. She also did her homework before coming
here.
She had also checked the hotel’s prices online. It was close to five thousand dollars a night for a
Juxury suite. Even she was slightly taken aback at the price. How much would it cost for their
three month stay? Madelyn dared not think about it.
When they arrived at the hotel entrance, they saw that the hotel looked like a huge castle. Once Madelyn exited the
vehicle, a girl with a high ponytail, all dressed in black and wearing black- rimmed glasses, walked over. The girl also
had some freckles on her face. She adjusted her glasses and said seriously, “Good day, my name is Jane Smith. I
am a student of Professor Monet and will be participating in the training as well.”

a freshman starting next year.”

talent for it. The professor was right about you,” Jane commented.
Madelyn smiled and thanked her, “Thank you.”
“We’ve booked a room for you when we arrived. However, you will be staying with me for the following three
months,” Jane added.
Just when Madelyn was about to agree to it, Ariel said, “Ms. Jent has a separate room that we have prepared for
her.”
Madelyn interjected, “It’s fine. Please cancel the room for me.”
“But this is upon Mr. Arnold’s request,” Ariel replied.
“I will inform him after this,” Madelyn answered.
“Very well. If you need anything, you can contact me, Ms. Jent. I am always at your service,” Ariel replied.
