The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning By Max Charming chapter 368

Jadie felt confused, scared, and anxious about losing the things she held dear. However, out of all these emotions,

she felt jealousy most of all.

Jadie was jealous that some people were born privileged; they did not need to do anything to get the things they

wanted.

She, on the other hand, could not get the things she wanted no matter how hard she tried and despite even having

to endure the disgusting gazes of others.

Madelyn did not dare to look back when she left, terrified that if she did, she would not be able to escape that hell

hole. She quickly got in the car while the driver placed her things into the trunk. “Have you gotten all of your things,

Ms. Jent?”

“Yep! Let’s go.” “This Etlinish cassette is the most important thing. No wonder I couldn’t find it for the past few

days,’ she thought. When Madelyn returned to the Arnold residence, she saw the old woman again.

The old woman looked over when she heard the commotion. She wore bronze -colored eyeglasses with chains

dangling by their sides and had a cane in her hand. “What’re you doing here again, ma’am?

“I’m old. I’ve gotten lost again. Do you have something to eat? I’m starving!” Madelyn looked around and saw that

the servants were not around. “I’ll make you something to eat!”

Madelyn took off the red-colored scarf from her neck. Then, she took off her coat-revealing her beige sweater- and

hung it on the coat rack.

Then, she rolled up her sleeves and went to the kitchen. She poured a glass of water and set it in front of the old

woman. “Have a seat. Here’s some water. And if you’re hungry, you can have some fruit. The food will be ready

soon.”

Madelyn switched on the television that had not been used in ages and switched to the opera channel. Surprised,

the old woman asked, ” How’d you know I like this show?”

“I used to stay with my grandma, and she loved this show.” Madelyn responded. The old woman scrutinized

Madelyn once more. Madelyn could not figure out what the woman was thinking.

“You’re alone again? Where’s Mr. Arnold?” “He’s on a business trip. He’ll be back in a few days,” Madelyn replied as

she walked to the kitchen. The kitchen was filled with all kinds of food and ingredients.

The old woman asked again, “This is the first time I’ve seen him bring such a young girl home. Are you two

together? “Yes, we are,” Madelyn replied.

“You’ve met his parents?” Madelyn was startled by her question. She quickly changed the topic and said, “Do you

want chicken alfredo or chicken bolognese?”

“Both are fine,” the old woman replied. She continued, “We’ve already met twice, so we’re not strangers anymore.

Is there something you can’t tell me? Or are you scared that I’ll blab about it? Madelyn lowered her head and

washed a tomato.

“Nope, it’s because of me. I’m still in school, so it’s too early to meet his parents. He’s also worried that I’ll be

pressured by our relationship, so he thought it would be better to wait till after I’ve sat for my college entrance

exam.”

“I heard the servants say that you’re reluctant to meet Mrs. Arnold Sr. and you keep on making excuses? What’s

that about?” The old woman’s questions were sharp and probing, as if she were gathering information for

someone.

“I’m not very sociable and I’ve always kept to myself in school. Besides… Mrs. Arnold Sr. has always been such a

prestigious person. I… I’m not ready yet,” Madelyn spoke hesitantly and seemed a little nervous.

“Are you scared that she won’t like you? “Well…that’s part of the reason.” “Oh.” the old woman nodded and

continued, “So how’d you and Mr. Arnold meet?”

“Madelyn!” Just then, a familiar voice chimed in, and Madelyn looked like she had seen her savior. “George!”

Madelyn called out.

George glanced at the person on the couch and did not speak. He handed Madelyn a phone and said, “It’s a call

from Mr. Arnold…”
