Chapter 972

Madelyn replied to Margaret, “I just want to taste it.”

It has been a year since Madelyn’s rebirth, a time she would not forget.

Margaret found it hard to refuse Madelyn’s rare request. She said, “I’ll make it right away, just like the ones you get

outside.”

“Thanks,” Madelyn said.

Margaret hurriedly began preparing the grilled food for Madelyn, but the kitchen at home lacked the proper

ingredients, as Madelyn was not fond of spicy food. When Margaret realized they did not have the necessary

equipment for grilling, she quickly called the driver, Jordan, to get some.

Jordan planned to inform Zach about that, as everything concerning Madelyn required his permission. It might

seem trivial, but Zach never tired of knowing every little detail about her.

When Zach was about to check on Madelyn, he learned about the grilled food request from Jordan. Zach asked,

“Grilled food?”

“Yes, Mr. Jardin. Margaret gave me some money and asked me to get the items on the list.” Jordan replied, handing

Zach a list of items.

Zach glanced through the list and noticed it was just ordinary grilled food supplies. His memory was still sharp.

Zach instructed Jordan to follow Madelyn’s requests, “Do as she says.”

“Understood, Mr. Jardin.”

As Jordan was leaving, Zach handed him some cash, telling him to return the change to Margaret.

Back in Madelyn’s room, she looked out the window on her bed, lost in thought and not noticing Zach’s entrance.

The light filtering through the clouds illuminated her delicate features, making even the fine hairs on her face

visible.

Madelyn recalled when she lived in this house with Hayson, whose focus was always on Zach. Just like today, it was

snowing back then. The once visible boundary walls were now gone, leaving only a view of a jujube tree. She had

picked its fruits only once and never again.

Madelyn had always been sentimental. Even a small gesture could stay etched in her memory. She had regarded

Forrest as a friend for a long time. There were regrets, like being unable to say goodbye when he left, which was

why Madelyn suddenly craved grilled food.

Then, Madelyn’s thoughts were interrupted by Zach’s voice.

“What’s in your mind?”
