Chapter 145: Chapter 145: Revenge (02)

Navien lay against the tree, coughing blood. His chest rose and fell in ragged bursts, his eyes wide with shock.

He wanted to roar, to shift into his wolf and show this bitch who was the powerful one here. But when he tried to

call it forth, nothing came. His body trembled with rage.

Selene walked toward him slowly, each step calm, unhurried. Her eyes were cold, her lips curved in that same

soft smile that made him feel smaller than dirt.

Navien growled, forcing himself to stand. "You..." he spat blood to the side, his teeth red. "You little bitch. You

dare..."

Her fist connected with his jaw before he could finish. His head snapped to the side, blood spraying from his lips.

He staggered, but before he could catch his breath, her knee slammed into his stomach. He gagged, his body

folding forward, and she brought her elbow down hard across his back.

The forest echoed with his screams.

Selene’s face didn’t change. Blow after blow landed. Her fists and kicks struck every important place on his body.

He tried to cover himself, tried to fight back, but his limbs were weak. The spell still ran through his veins, eating

him from the inside.

"Stop!" he howled, spitting more blood. "Stop, damn you! | am Alpha! You can’t..."

Her boot crushed down on his hand. Bones cracked, and his scream tore through the night.

Selene crouched before him, her eyes steady. "Alpha?" she whispered. "Where is your wolf now?"

Navien froze. His breath cshallow, his eyes darting wildly. He reached inward, desperate to feel the beast

within. But there was nothing. Nothing but silence.

"No..." he gasped, his voice breaking. "No, no, no—"

Selene’s hand gripped his hair, forcing him to look at her. "Your wolf is gone. Can you feel it?" Her voice was soft,

almost kind, but her eyes burned with merciless light.

Navien thrashed, panic rising. "What have you done?" he screamed, spit and blood flying from his mouth. "What

have you done to me?"

Selene tilted her head. Her smile was gentle, almost sweet.

Navien'’s face twisted in terror. "You're not a witch..." he spat. His chest heaved, his voice cracked with fear.

"You're not a witch at all. You're a demon!" His scream shook the trees. "What have you done to my wolf?!"

Selene only laughed softly. The sound chilled him deeper than the spell.

She didn’t answer. Instead, she struck him again. Her fist met his face with a crack. Then another. Then another.

His body sagged, his blood painting the dirt, his vision blurring.

Still, she did not stop.

By the tshe stepped back, Navien was a broken mess. His body was swollen, his bones shattered, blood

covering him from head to toe. He could barely keep his eyes open, his breaths shallow, rattling in his throat.

Selene stood above him, her shadow falling across his broken form. Her smile never faded.

And Navien, for the first tin his life, felt what true fear was.

Selene bent low, her breath ghosting over Navien’s bloodied face. Her fingers curled into his filthy hair, yanking

his head back so he had no choice but to look into her eyes. His lips trembled, his body shaking.

"Now," she whispered, her voice soft, deadly. "Tellthe names of your friends. And listen well—if you dare to

lie to me, forget about living the rest of your life. You want to survive? Then speak the truth. Who were the

beasts that rap*d Luna that night? Telleach name."

Navien’s eyes widened. His blood-soaked face twisted in horror. "H-how... how do you know...?" His words broke

into a trembling whisper.

His pupils shook as though ghosts from the past rose before him. Suddenly, his gaze locked on her face. He

froze. His breath caught. The more he looked, the more his body trembled. A memory, a shadow from years ago,

clashed against the girl before him.

And then he saw it... the similarity. The seyes. The shair.

"You..." he stammered, his voice cracking. "You're her daughter. You are her daughter." His words cout like a

curse, like a revelation that tore his soul apart.

Selene’s face did not change. She neither confirmed nor denied. She only pulled harder on his hair. The strands

tore from his scalp, leaving her fist full of blood and hair. Navien howled, his scream echoing through the forest.

"Yes, yes, I'll tell you!" he cried out, desperate now, the fear of death clawing at him. "Alpha Drevan! Alpha

Corvus! And... Alpha Merek! These are the ones | knew! | swear it! Letgo! It wasn’t even my idea—it was

Eirik. It was Alpha Eirik himself who called us. He wanted us there. It was him!"

He coughed blood, almost choking on it, his voice cracking in panic. "I told you the truth. Letgo now...

please..."

Selene’s eyes stayed cold.

Her boot swung, striking him hard. His body rolled in the mud, coughing and gasping, his pride torn as much as

his flesh.

She walked toward him slowly. Navien tried to crawl back, fear flooding his eyes. But before he could move far,

her boot cdown with a vicious force, crushing the one part of him that gave him the pride of being a real

man.

The forest shook with his scream. It was not a man’s sound anymore. It was a dying animal. He clutched himself,

curling in the mud, his face pale as death.

But Selene did not stop. She pressed all her weight into her boot, grinding the last of his pride into dust. His body

convulsed, his scream fading into a hoarse cry, and then silence. He passed out, bloodied, broken, ruined beyond

recognition.

Selene stepped back with a calm face, as if the bloodied scene in front of her had nothing to do with her. She did

not spare him another glance.

The little black wolf stood at her side, silent, its fur bristled. For a long moment it only stared at the unconscious

man.

Selene crouched down, her hand reaching out to pat the wolf's head gently. "Are you scared?" she asked softly,

"Let's go. It stinks here."

The wolf leaned into her hand, quietly.

Together, they turned away from the broken body lying in the mud and disappeared into the forest, leaving

Navien behind unconscious.
