Chapter 4829

Uhh...

Sensing Old Master Stanford's fury, Darryl was completely at a loss. Nevertheless, he tried

his best to explain patiently.

"You must be Old Master Stanford. I'm going to be honest with you. My name is Darryl

Darby. I'm not the Derrick Darby you've been looking for. I'm from another land. I was just

passing by that hill when I was captured by your men and brought back here."

Huh?

Old Master Stanford frowned.

Gerald could not help but walk over and smack Darryl's head once again, crying out,

"You're still on that, huh? How are you still this shameless at this point? What's all this

about Darryl Darby and a different land? I think you're looking for a beating!"

As he spoke, Gerald turned to address Old Master Stanford. ’He's gone too far this time,

Old Master Stanford. I say we punish him and teach him a little lesson."

Motherf*cker. That statement alone warranted a punishment?

Darryl was shocked.

Old Master Stanford merely waved a hand, saying impatiently, "Tomorrow's the big day. If

we injure him too much, we'll still be making a fool out of ourselves. Just lock him up and

have him reflect on his actions.’ "Alright!"

Gerald called out, turning to look at Darryl. ’It's your lucky day, *sshole!"

He hauled Darryl upright and dragged him out of the grand hall as he spoke.

"I..."

Darryl was just about to repeat once again that they had gotten the wrong man, yet

Gerald did not give him the slightest chance to do that. Instead, he dragged him into a

room in the backyard.

Gerald shoved him into the room, scoffing coldly, ’You don't know how lucky you are to be

able to marry into the Stanfords, you bastard. Know your place. Tomorrow's the big day. If

you dare sneak off again, I'll make sure I break your legs."

Thump!

Gerald slammed the door shut before bolting it with a lock as he finished speaking.

F*ck me!

At the situation, Darryl was utterly speechless. How the hell did he even end up as a lowly

son-in-law?

Whatever. He needed to think of how to recover his powers.

As he pondered to himself, Darryl sat cross-legged and began to meditate while trying to

break past the curious energy holding his fairy soul down.

The seconds ticked by, slow as molasses.

Darryl was still able to stay pretty patient at first. However, he tried many times and still

found no way to break past or eliminate the energy. He grew frustrated as his forehead

beaded with sweat from the concentration.

Motherf*cker. Could the energy have come from the portal he had fallen through?

How would he get rid of it?

Just then, the lock outside clicked open. It was followed by a breathtaking figure entering

through the door while holding a wooden plate.

Darryl scrambled to stand. The lady was dressed in a pale purple dress and had exquisite

features, her pale skin glinting in the room's dim light. There was a slight arrogance in her

gaze.

The plate held a few dishes, and they smelt heavenly.

Darryl stared for a good few seconds before he finally spoke.

"And you are..."

The lady’s name was Sheniqua, Selina’s personal servant.

Sheniqua answered coldly, "Old Master Stanford told me to give you this."

As she spoke, she placed the plate harshly onto the table in the room.

Following that, Sheniqua was unable to hide her disdain. "I heard you snuck out last night,

Derrick. I'm warning you. Don't, for a single second, think that you'll only succeed from

here on out because you've married into the Stanfords. You're nothing but a burden that

Old Man Stanford invested in to bring his daughter fortune. Know your place, or you're

going to get hell."

Damn, the lady had quite a temper on her.

Darryl stopped short before smiling and asking, "I heard your High Lady had been

diagnosed with an illness. What is it? Could you tell me about it?"

He had thought it through. Since he had been mistaken for Derrick and brought back to

the Stanfords, he must have had some curious fate with that Selina lady.

Why not try to figure out a cure for an illness? Then, if he succeeded, Old Master Stanford

would surely let him go.

"What are you trying to do?"

Sheniqua grew defensive. What was that bastard trying to do, asking about the High

Lady’s illness out of nowhere? Nothing good, for sure.

"I'm just asking. I just wanted to know," Darryl replied with a smile.

Hoho!

Sheniqua scoffed. "You'd never ask something like that unless you have ulterior motives.

You can forget about trying to know about the High Lady's illness."

As she spoke, she turned to walk away.

Mother*cker!

Darryl was torn between both amusement and annoyance.

What a temper that lady had! What a bastard must that Derrick Darby be, to the point

where no one showed him the slightest bit of respect.
