Darryl pretended to look around and acted as if he had made some discovery and
exclaimed, "Woah, the people who set the traps sure are a cunning bunch." "What makes
you say that?" Asked Mahoney.
"The traps shifted from the previous path, we can no longer follow the old instructions,"
said Darryl.
"I think the people who did this had deduced that some people might be able to solve it,
so they decided to switch to a completely different one in the middle."
Darryl was just spewing nonsense at that point, trying to tease Mahoney.

Mahoney cussed, "Those people are devious, they're just trying to wipe us all out at this
point!"
Mahoney asked again, "Well... Then, how should we proceed?"

Darryl took a deep breath in and pretended to look at the oath ahead and contemplated,
"since the mechanism had shifted completely, we have to switch our path as well. If my
deduction is correct, we should be able to proceed with four steps forward and two steps
left."
Darry was only telling half the truth.
Mahoney had no knowledge at all when it came to formation mechanisms, he naturally
believed everything Darryl said without a single doubt. He then yelled out his order,
"Quickly, let's proceed. If you're injured, follow closely behind."
The men got into a formation and proceeded their journey.
Kendra who was following behind from a distance let out a sigh or relief, fortunately
Mahoney did not flip out on Darryl. But Kendra could not help to wonder what Darryl said
to Mahoney to calm him down, and even had him become such an obedient follower...
Kendra thought as she picked up her pace and followed them.
Being the Senior Sister of the Godly Eagle Sect, Kendra was smart enough to realize that
Darryl was only fooling Mahoney around. The man leading the team was surely at most
risk in activating the traps, whilst Darryl was the safest following them from behind.
Which was why Kendra looked closely at Darryl's every step and made sure she followed
the exact same ones.

In less than two hundred meters, the sounds of the traps could be heard coming from
below again.
Everyone came to an immediate halt as they started summoning their internal energy and
watched their surroundings carefully, making sure there were no arrows.
Mahoney grimaced as he growled, "Stop moving."

Mahoney looked back at Darryl and asked, "What's going on? Didn't you say there'll be no
problem?" Mahoney was at his last straw, if they continued on that way, all his men would
be wiped out by the hidden traps before they could leave the plaza.
Darryl said defeatedly, "Master Mahoney, as I mentioned earlier, we should be able to
proceed given that there's no more accidents, who knew it would happen again so soon?"
Darryl looked upset and nervous on the outside, but he could not feel any happier
internally.
Mahoney frowned as he tried to recall what Darryl had said earlier.
A man from the Red Shirt Crusade uttered, "Hall Master, Darryl did say that earlier." That
man was honest and straightforward.

Mahoney was already furious, he glared at the man and spat, "Shut up, did I ask?!"
Mahoney then looked at Darryl defeatedly and asked, "What do we do now then?"
Mahoney started having his doubts for Darryl, but he did not have anything to prove it. He
had no choice but to swallow his anger.
Since they were now surrounded with danger, he could still make use of Darryl.
Darryl chuckled bitterly and said, "Let's stop moving for now, the trap has been activated,
let's just try to fend ourselves from the arrows for now."
