Chapter 5330

As Darryl spoke, Rachelle burst into tears as she launched into her tale of woe.

"There's something you don't know, sir. My... my life is so tragic... I don't live here, but in

Emerald Cloud Lake, more than a hundred li northwest of here. I came from a town of

fishermen who made a living from the lake until a month ago when tragedy struck.

"A contagious plague wiped out my entire family and village. I was lucky enough to get out

alive and find a way to make a living out here on my own, but I never thought that those

bastards from the Four Seas Alliance would have targeted me...

"If it hadn't been for you suddenly appearing, I don't know what would've happened to

me...

Rachelle bawled her head off while sneaking glances at Darryl every once in a while.

Of course, she had made the story up well before just to gain Darryl's sympathy.

She was quite the cheat.

Darryl stared Rachelle down, taking in her every move clearly as he smirked to himself, all

while plastering on a falsely sympathetic expression.

"Oh, I didn’t know your life was so tragic..."

Darryl's interest was piqued by Rachelle's enthusiasm in keeping up the act. He could

immediately guess that the lady had been sent by those sects, and he wanted to see what

she could be up to.

Seeing Darryl's expression of approval, Rachelle let out a soft sigh as she said, "If you

don't laugh at me for this, sir, I don't have anyone left. I really don't know where I should

go now. If you don't mind, could I stay by your side as your servant? You saved me earlier.

My life is now yours, sir."

As she spoke, Rachelle's expression was nothing but pitiful, yet her gaze flashed coldly.

Indeed, her final goal was to get close to Darryl just to cast the Charm Person Spell on her

and control him.

Just then, Darryl let out a sigh. He did not respond right away, but he seemed to

understand something.

After all that, the lady was actually trying to gain my sympathy to stay by Darryl's side. It

had to be said that it was a pretty ruthless move, making herself sound all pitiful so he

would surely bring her to the Pure Yang Division and give her a chance to steal the

Heavenly Secret Palace cultivation method.

At the thought, Darryl scratched his head.

"Well... Alright, but I'm a bit of a slob. It will be quite hard for you if you want to stay by my

side."

Darryl had thought it through. He decided to play along and keep the lady by his side. It

would do him some good to find out which sect had sent her.

Rachelle replied with a serious expression, "You're too kind, sir. I was born in a poor family,

and I don't fear a hard life in the slightest. I'll be happy as long as you want to keep me by

your side, sir."

Alright!

Darryl nodded his head, not wasting any time. "Come on!"

As he spoke, he walked ahead.

Rachelle scrambled to follow up, not daring to use her powers to not expose her identity

while she walked behind Darryl.

Darryl caught on and subsequently chose significantly more difficult paths to walk without

taking breaks for the next couple of hours.

Rachelle did not dare to use her internal energy, and the hours of walking made her feet

feel like they were made of lead as they ached and throbbed painfully with growing

blisters.

Whew!

At last, it was almost dark when Darryl and Rachelle got to a cave. Darryl found a large,

flat rock and hopped onto it to lie down comfortably as he

took a deep breath. "It’s getting dark. Let's take a little rest here."

Just then, Rachelle scrambled to nod as she felt like a weight had been lifted off her

shoulders. She could finally rest. Her feet were killing her.

Rachelle felt nothing but indignant then.

To think that the great holy nun of the True Flame Sect would have to take such suffering.

All she could do was suck it up in favor of her Senior Brother’s plan.

At the thought, Rachelle also prepared to find a spot to rest.

"Oh, right!"

Just then, Darryl suddenly sat up to stare at her and asked, "You mentioned before that

you come from a family of fishermen?"

His expression was neutral, but his gaze glinted slyly.

"Huh?"

The sudden question made Rachelle startled before she nodded quickly.

"Yes, sir."
