Chapter 1137 Let Him Sit With His Thoughts
Gilbert left the bar after writing the check. It was then that Marigold came out from behind
the screen. She had already calmed herself down. Besides the redness in her eyes,
nothing else was shown on her face.
"I don't know what you see in him!" Paul was a little angry to see her.
Marigold said nothing and sat at the side. Jenny slid the check over and said, "I know you
don't want to contact him often, but for the child's sake, you must take this money.''
"You don't have to tell me to. I will." However, the amount written on it made her gasp.
She looked at Jenny and then at Paul, who snorted and said, "This isn't even a lot."
"Is this too much, Jenny?" Marigold ignored her brother. Even to the Wagners, it was not a
small sum.

that you can raise the child stress-free."
"Alright." Marigold didn’t refuse. She knew that Gilbert was giving her this much to make
her stay away from him. If this was before. Marigold would not have been able to do it. But
now, nothing else mattered to her except the money.
Jenny sighed in relief after seeing Marigold accept the money. Things would be difficult if
she didn't take it.
"If it were up to me, I'd take the money and abort the kid. You still have so much life left.
Are you really going to throw all that away? For a kid?" If this child is born, Marigold would
have a hard time finding someone to marry.
Marigold looked at Paul seriously. "Please don't say things like that anymore, Paul. I've
already made my decision. From now on, this child is my world. If you talk about aborting
it again, I will be very upset."
"I'm just doing what's good for you!" Paul was angry.
Marigold said nothing. She didn’t need his version of good.
Seeing that they were about to fight, Jenny said, "I'll send you back."
"Okay. Thank you." Marigold nodded. She didn't want to hear Paul say anything else. She
had already had enough of him.
Just like that, Jenny and Marigold left the bar, leaving Alec and Paul in the private booth.
Paul was still mad. He said, "Was I wrong, Alec? I’m just doing what's good for her."
"You weren't wrong, but...Marigold wasn't, either. You just can’t understand what a mother
feels," Alec said.
Paul was solemn.
"Let's just leave it at that. Don't bother about it anymore, and don't go picking on Gilbert. I

fight.
Paul rolled his eyes. 'You're pussy whipped."
Alec merely smiled. What was wrong with that? Paul didn't have a taste of what it was like
yet.
Outside the bar, after Jenny watched Marigold leave in the cab, she turned to look for Alec.
Just then, he walked out.
"Where's Paul?" Jenny was bewildered to see only him.
"Don't bother him. Let him sit with his thoughts," Alec said nonchalantly.
"Alright. As long as he doesn't bother Gilbert anymore." Jenny didn't care what Paul
thought as long as he left Gilbert alone.
"Don't worry. He wouldn't dare." With Alec's warning, Paul probably wouldn't repeat the
same mistake.
