Chapter 490 Take the Hint

She thought she had made herself very clear the previous day. Derrick was smart, so there was no way

he couldn't take the hint. To Jenny's surprise, he was totally oblivious and approached her again.

"Jenny, we graduated from the same university. There's no need to push me away like this, right?"

Derrick desperately tried to establish a closer connection with her.

However, it was obviously not very successful, as Jenny was repulsed by his words. "Although we are

fellow alumni, that doesn't mean we're close. I thought my attitude toward you had made things very

clear, but now it seems you didn't understand what I meant. Well then, let me make it crystal clear

now."

Jenny looked at him with a cold expression.

"I'm not interested in you, Derrick, whether as friends or in any other kind of relationship. So, can you

please step aside?"

She didn't want to say such harsh words, but Derrick just didn't get it. If she didn't make it clear, he

might keep bothering her.

Derrick's face was a kaleidoscope of colors upon hearing Jenny's merciless rebuke. "Jenny! Arent you

being too harsh? As a fellow university alum, I invited you for a meal out of kindness. Not only did you

not appreciate my good intentions, but you also did it with such a repulsive attitude. I really don't

understand how someone like you can graduate from Parrington Medical University!’

His voice was quite loud, so the people passing by stopped to look at them.

Jenny looked at Derrick and felt that he was wearisome. "Is that all? If you're done, I’ll be on my way."

She wasn't interested in him, nor did she mean to teach him a lesson. Jenny didn't mind the things he

said during his outburst; she wasn't so petty. With that, she left the hospital, leaving Derrick standing

awkwardly at the door.

At that moment, he felt like everyone's eyes were on him, sneering at him. Yesterday, he boasted to his

colleagues that Jenny was interested in him, but today he was proven wrong publicly. He could guess

what those people thought of him right then. He'd been given lots of recognition and praise since he

was young; he couldn't swallow such a humiliating rejection. He snorted coldly and left the hospital,

determined to find a way to teach Jenny a lesson.

"So what if you have a renowned professor as your mentor? What does that matter? He's too far away

to be able to help you in any way. You don't hold a candle to me in Clusia!" Derrick thought furiously.

He had a lot of thoughts in his mind and was determined to not let the matter slide until he got revenge

for his humiliation.

Jenny didn't even think about Derrick anymore as soon as she left. Instead, she took a taxi to a

shopping mall near Walter Inc. She sat in a cafe on the eighteenth floor of the mall with a perfect view

of the Walter Inc building outside the window. She gazed at the building, lost in thought.

"Jo, why did your dad freeze your card? Did you have a fight with him?" Came the voice of a young

woman nearby.

Jolene was angry when she heard that and complained, "It's all because of that cheap woman named

Jenny Walter. My dad said I can't compare to her, so we argued a bit, and then he froze my card."

If it weren't for her mom giving her some pocket money, Jolene really didn't know how to get by.

"Jenny?" The others weren't very familiar with the name. "Is she the one Christopher brought back from

the small town before?"

"N-No!"

"That's her." Jolene nodded. "I heard that because of her, Mr. Spade was hospitalized. It must be

because he wouldn't acknowledge her, so Christopher argued with him, which led to the old man's

hospitalization." "I don't know what Christopher was thinking. How could he argue with his grandfather

over a woman from a small town like that?"
