Chapter 590 You Really Think I'm Afraid?

"Jenny Walter!" Rowena fumed, unable to do anything with Graham looking after her.

Jenny grinned. "Yes? Can't wait to do away with me, can you? C'mon then, you really think I'm afraid?"

Rowena gnashed her teeth. "Alright. You'll see!"

With that final hiss, she dragged Jolene back to their rooms.

Jenny felt somewhat disappointed being left unharmed. If Rowena could've done something violent to her, she

might've been able to get Graham to take action. Unfortunately, she was still cunning and knew she couldn't touch

Jenny under the man's watch.

"Why didn't you let me talk, Mom? I could've told Dad who I liked!" Jolene whined in her room.

If she had told her father, there was a high chance he would've helped the two of them grow closer. Jolene might

even end up marrying James— something she had dreamed of for so long.

Rowena sighed and asked, "Have you ever wondered what would happen to your claim to this family if you married

someone else?"

Jolene pouted. "So what? The Walters cant compare to the Windsors."

The Windsors were still more powerful than the Walters. Plus, Jolene wouldn't be losing much. James was an

incredibly attractive man, after all.

Rowena massaged her temple. "The Windsors? You really think James Windsor wants to marry you?" She was

certain that it was just a silly dream, nothing more.

Jolene frowned. "If it weren't for Jenny seducing him, he wouldn't be this cold to me!"

"Even you know he doesn't care." Rowena gazed hopelessly at her daughter. "Your father wouldn't help arrange

anything with the Windsors even if you told him because he knows your worth, and this matchmaking is not worth

it."

There was no way a man as keen as Graham would ever do something to embarrass his family.

Jolene crossed her arms and whined, "So you're saying I don't deserve a good man like James."

"You need to be reasonable, Jo. It wasn't difficult for you to find a good match when you were still the only child. But

that's not the case anymore," Rowena said solemnly. "Even a blind man can see that your father dotes on Jenny

more, making her the most likely heir to the family. There’s very little chance of you winning against her in this

situation."

"How could a divorced woman compare to me?" Jolene continued fuming.

"You really think people will still care about that status once she takes over the family?" Rowena asked. Humans had

a fickle nature, but they were predictable. Almost everyone would cave in front of wealth and power.

Jolene paled, suddenly realizing just how big a change Jenny had brought into her life. She had imagined she'd lose

her father's favor, at most, not all this.

"What do I do, Mom?" She tugged on her mother's sleeve. "Do I just marry?"

She only wanted James Windsor, no one else.

"Don't panic. Just do as I say. Focus on working at Walter Inc for now. Whatever Jenny can accomplish, you can do

better. Don't forget, the Glass family has your back too."

At least in that regard, Jenny would never win against Jolene.
