Chapter 614 Blocked

However, his phone was still turned off. It only made her even more worried. She had no choice but to call Vincent.

It took him a long time to answer, and Jenny's anxiety was through the roof.

"Miss Jenny?' Vincent picked up. He seemed bewildered that Jenny was calling him.

Jenny didn't waste any time, asking, "Where's Alec? Why isn't he picking up? H

Vincent was stunned. He looked at Old Mr. Faust before him, who shook his head. He said, "Mr. Faust is in a

meeting. He's been very busy lately, so his phone has been with me. It's probably out of battery."

"A meeting?" Jenny raised her eyebrows. That was weird. "When is it going to end?" Jenny asked. She had to hear

his voice, or she wouldn't be at ease.

Vincent didn't know what to do. He knew that Jenny would wait for Alec to pick up the call after his meeting, but the

problem was that no one would answer. Alec was still nowhere to be found.

His silence made Jenny even more confused. ’What? Can't you tell me?"

"No, it's just that I'm not sure when his meeting will be over. He's been really busy," Vincent repeated, praying that

Jenny wouldn't continue pressing the matter.

Jenny had already guessed that something had happened to Alec. She just wasn't sure what.

"Aren't you in Bardoff City? Why have you returned to Parrington? Did Alec tell you to go back?" Jenny asked,

obviously bewildered.

Vincent felt a headache coming. He no longer cared if what he said was believable. "There are too many things to

handle here. Mr. Faust couldn't do them alone, so he told me to come back."

Jenny said nothing for a long time.

Vincent's heart was about to leap out of his throat. He was afraid of Jenny persisting; he wasn't very good at lying.

"Alright. I've got it." Jenny didn't ask him any more questions, and Vincent sighed in relief.

He hung up and looked at Old Mr. Faust. "Why aren't we telling her? She might be able to help us.’

"Those people in Faust Group are studying Alec carefully. If they know something has happened to him, there will be

chaos. If Jenny comes back now, people will start putting the pieces together. So it's best if she doesn't know." Old

Mr. Faust had a lot on his mind. He didn't mean to keep Jenny in the dark on purpose. However, if she suddenly

returned when Alec was missing, people would start talking.

Although Old Mr. Faust's words made sense, Vincent felt they still had to tell Jenny. She was obviously worried about

him. However, he didn't voice his opinion. "I've already sent people out to keep up the investigations. Mr. Faust will

be alright."

Old Mr. Faust nodded. Then, exhaustion showed itself on his face. "Keep an eye on the people in the company. Don't

let any suspicious people find an opening."

"Alright. Take care," Vincent said. He was a little worried about Old Mr. Faust's state.

The old man said nothing. He waved, and Vincent turned to leave the ward.

In Bardoff City, Jenny didn't believe anything that Vincent had said. She called Zack.

"Zack, help me find something out.’

Two hours later, Jenny received Zack's call. She was anxious. "Did you find anything?"

"Nothing at all. The Fausts are really good at blocking all communication,' Zack answered. He didn't sound

discouraged at all.

Jenny frowned. "Blocking communication? Why?” “That's the problem. What do you think happened for them to

block off the entire world? I don't think it's a small matter,’ Zack speculated, smiling. He seemed to be enjoying all

this.
