Chapter 873 Who Would Have Thought

When Luke heard that there was a helicopter on the premises, he nearly fainted.

How could no one have told him about the helicopter? Wouldn't he have detected

something amiss if he had known?

Anger surged in his heart. But then, he looked at the emergency room not far off. He

suppressed the anger. He couldn't rush over now. He could only pray that Alec was already

dead. If he were alive, and his father was the one who died, Luke would faint from anger.

Soon, the lights above the emergency room went off. The doctor walked out. ’I'm sorry. We

have tried our best.”

"What did you say? You fucking piece of trash!" Luke wanted to rush forward to hit him.

With a loud bang, Zeke brought his cane down on the floor. Luke had no choice but to

control himself.

Zeke sighed, seeming older. "Make the arrangements."

"Alright.” The butler nodded. He couldn't imagine how something like this could have

happened.

Wasn't this the day of Alec's death? How could Xavier be the one who died instead?

Zeke turned and left the hospital. Luke didn't know which way to go for a moment. He

stayed in his spot.

"Come here!" Thankfully, Zeke ordered him to go over.

Luke sighed in relief. His father was dead, but Zeke had not forgotten his grandson. As

long as Zeke did not give up on him, Luke had a chance.

As for the dead Xavier, Luke did not feel too aggrieved about it. He was merely angry.

Being murdered in his own house was a great humiliation to the Fausts.

Zeke walked to the entrance and sighed, feeling better. "How are things on Alec's side?"

"What are you talking about, Grandpa?’ Luke acted dumb. He knew that Zeke did not like

internal politics, so he kept this a secret.

Zeke looked at him, exasperated. "Did you think your father would dare to bring out the

guns without my permission?"

It was then that realization dawned on Luke. A mixture of emotions stirred in his heart.

Amongst them was a grumble. "Grandpa, why did you bring him over to Bardoff City to

fight us for the position if you wanted him dead as well?"

If not for this abrupt gesture, Xavier would have become the new head of the Faust family,

and Luke would be the next heir. Nothing like this would have happened.

The old man sighed. "I wanted to train you both. But who would have thought...’

Who would have thought that his heirs would be so incapable. On the other hand, Alec

was too capable. That was what had caused the tragedy tonight.

For a moment, Luke didn't know what to say. He pursed his lips, remaining silent.

"I take it that the plan did not work with Alec?" Zeke sighed once more. He had agreed to

it in secret. They thought it would be perfect. However, they had underestimated Alec.

Luke nodded but then shook his head. "He should have died under those circumstances.

But then, we couldn't find his corpse. And now they say that a helicopter has left the turf

club. It's probably..." he trailed off, too embarrassed to say any more.

"A helicopter?" Zeke frowned. "So it seems like Alec was prepared."
