Chapter 979 Max's Confession

Jenny pulled Jade further into the park and said as they walked, "Don't be anxious. You'll

find out soon enough."

Soon, Jade, still puzzled, was pulled to the center of the park, and exquisite decorations

came into her view. The vivid red roses and balloons stood out, especially in the snow.

Jade stopped in her tracks. She looked at Jenny and saw she was smiling at her with a

motherly expression. Jade felt a chill run down her spine.

Just as Jenny thought she'd figured out what was going on, Jade suddenly asked, "Are you

preparing to hold an event here?"

"Jade..."

"This is quite a good idea. The first snow of the season, coupled with these

decorations...This is perfect for a fashion show to launch our new product," Jade analyzed.

The next moment, she frowned and said, "However, the color of these flowers and our new

product don’t match, and these red balloons make it seem like a wedding."

As Jade started criticizing the venue, Jenny was rendered speechless and felt helpless at

how things were progressing.

Right then, music started to play.

While Jenny was still dazed, Jade nodded approvingly as she praised, "Wow, there's even

music! You really had everything prepared."

Jenny decided not to explain anything and waited for Max to appear. She believed that

Jade should be able to figure it out by then.

With the music playing, Max slowly walked toward Jade. Jenny took it as her cue to head

back to the cabin. Although the snow was beautiful, she'd come from the south after all,

so she was still not used to such cold weather.

"What are you doing here?"

Seeing Max there, Jade asked without thinking, clearly befuddled.

Max smiled and asked her back, "What do you think?"

Jade looked around and saw Jenny and Alec in the cabin, as well as the decorations around

her. Even if she was dense and slow to catch on, she could roughly guess what was

happening at this point.

"Jade, although you have rejected me many times, I've never given up. Today, on the day

of the first snow this winter, I still want to try and express my feelings to you."

With that, Max started to pour his heart out.

"In fact, I never told you that I liked you the first time I laid eyes on you. At that time, I

couldn’t wrap my head around how special you were to make me unable to forget you

after just one look. Later, I learned about all the unfortunate things you've gone through,

and my heart ached for all the hardships you endured. How I wished I was the first person

to meet you! But that doesn't matter. I think it's not too late for me to appear in your life

now. After all, well still have a lot of time in the future."

He paused for a while before getting to the most important question. "Jade, be my

girlfriend and let me take care of you, okay?"

Max finished speaking and took out a carefully prepared gift -it was not a ring but a

necklace. He planned to save the ring for his proposal to Jade.

Jade's eyes were slightly reddened. Although she’d always claimed she was not easily

moved, she was still quite touched at that moment.

After divorcing Hayden, she never thought she would meet someone she liked again, nor

did she ever think a person would love her so fervently. She was hesitant and timid,

thinking it was all too good to be true.

But at that moment, when she saw the determination in Max's eyes, she thought, "There's

no harm in giving love another shot!"

"You know I'm a divorcee. Are you sure you don't mind?" Jade finally found her voice after

a while.

Max shook his head. "I only mind that I wasn't the first to have met you."

He would never have let her suffer so much if he'd been the first one to meet her.

"But I'm older than you..." Jade was still a little apprehensive.

"I never cared about that. It doesn't matter to me," Max stopped her. He really didn't care

about those trivial things. He was sure of his feelings for Jade, and his feelings for her were

neither swayed nor affected by her age or the fact that she'd been divorced.
