As his lips moved above mine, | told myself this was everything I've wanted with everything infor the last
five years. However, | hadn’t wanted it like this at all— whereby he didn’t confess to desiring or wanting me,
which was why, with all of my might, | pushed him away from me, whine gasping for breath. My hands rested
against his chest which | used to push him again when he attempted to close the distance between us again,
whine my heart was beating really fast.
“I- I'm not in love with you, Marco. You just caughtoff guard, that is all.” | managed to breathe out while still
trying to regulate my pounding heartbeat, but | was worried that | had already ruined everything, cause now, he
had a lazy grin on as he regarded me.
“Liar.” He shot at me, then he surged forward to kissagain, and | turned my head away, making his lips land
on my
cheek.
“You don’t need to keep lying to me, Addison. | know it'syou still love.” He sighed out, clearly pleased by
how he was sounding, and instantly wished the ground would swallowup at once. Why the heck did | agree
to have a dribk with him? Regret began to churn within me, I should have really listened to Zane when he told
“Seriously, Marco, stop being ridiculous. I'm not in love with you. I'm dating your brother and I'm in love with
him.” | breathed in, making sure that my voice cout steady and strong.
Marco regardedfor a moment before scoffing and rolling his eyes. “If you really aren't in love with me, you
wouldn't have askedif | wanted you.” He drawled and | felt a wave of mortification
cover me.

When he cupped my face and attempted to kissagain, | slapped him hard across the face before | could stop

As he gaped at me, | pointed at him. “What is your problem, Marco? Did | do such a crthatchoosing to

trying to spin this whole thing around, whine geeethung hard.
His eyes widened, then after a few seconds, his face crumbled and he stepped forward and pulledinto a hug.
“You're right, Addison. I'm really an asshole, and I'm sorry.” He mumbled, his hand massaging my back. Usually,
I'd have melted against him but presently, | was stiff as hell throughout the hug and ended up pulling out first.
“Um, it's fine.” | mumbled and turned to leave, but grabbed my hand, preventingfrom moving.

was out of line, and I'm sorry.” He continued but my mind was still reeling cause Marco wasn’t even someone
that loved to apologize on a normal day. And | was feeling sick as hell, that despite how this night began to spin,
it still ended with him and | being back to square one, after | had began to get my hopes up.
| had a feeling he was also just humoringright now and had already figured things between myself and Zade
aren't 100% real when | hesitated for a fleeting moment. | felt hummed that he distends yo revealing anything to
me, but does that even matter anymore? Does he likeor not? He did kissafter all, so what does that
mean?
I was confused as fuck, but also drained.
‘It’s fine, Marco.” | managed and after he let go of me, | fled up the stairs, completely forget about the water |
went down stairs ti initially grab. As soon as | stepped into the bedroom and slammed the door close, a scream
gathered in my throat, cause standing right by the door, was Zade... whom | thought was sleeping.
‘Y- you're awake.” | managed in a weak voice and he hummed as he regardedcuriously, then his hand was
sliding around my waist, which he used in tuggingflushed against his body till I gasped.
‘Where are you coming from?” He asked as he leaned down to nuzzle my throat, making my head pin as my
head grew light. His hands inright now was making it hard forto properly think, ind a shiver rolled down
my spine. | was supposed to have set clear boundaries between us but I'm still yet to get to that.
‘Uh... | went to get swater.” | whispered in response while my heart pounded away, cause no way was |
gonna tell him the truth which is the disaster that just took place in the kitchen.
He hummed, then he liftedinto his arms unexpectedly, makingsqueak and clutch his shoulders tightly.
He grinned as he carriedall the way to the bed and setdown, then he wiggled his brows, making me
suddenly feel warmth in my chest.
‘Are you feeling sleepy?” He asked and | shook my head. | was yet to recover from the shock | encountered
downstairs, so falling asleep now is basically impossible.
‘Why don’t we get to know each other smore then?” He suggested as he took the spot by my feet, his
hands coming to rest on my calves, making heat sear right into those spots.
Was his touches gonna feel this way at all times? | thought it would later stop feeling this way after a while, but it
seems like I've been wrong.
We talked and talked till | completely forgot about the incident that took place downstairs, and | got to know
more sides of Zade that | didn’t know before, like how he loved cats, and how he loved romance movies. He even
has a pet fish.
Seriously, he just keeps surprisingmore and more.

When we later climbed into bed together, as he pulledinto his arms, | wanted to protest, but it died on my
tongue after he kissed my head.
As | began to fall asleep, | asked myself if keeping this presence between us up was still needed cause | had a
feeling | had ruined everything with my own hands tonight.
