Chapter 1409

Chapter 1409

Kara's eyes clouded over, but she didn't retort.

Her fists clenched tighter.

Molly didn't bother to talk to Kara anymore. She sat down at a distance from Kara.

Molly poured herself a glass of water and sipped it slowly.

Eaton sat down across from her. He stared at her with narrowed eyes, a hint of scrutiny in his eyes.

"When you were in the restroom, did you run into anyone or hear anything?"

Molly looked up at him, a sarcastic look in her eyes. She asked, "What? Is there anything I shouldn't listen to?"

Eaton shook his head. "No, but I want to tell you not to trust anyone here."

Molly let out a snort. She looked at Eaton and said, "Eaton Scott, for my part, anyone here is more trustworthy than

you. n

Eaton choked. He didn't know how to explain.

She seemed to have misunderstood him even more.

"Molly, I do it for your sake, really."

Molly didn't want to waste time with him. She turned her

head to look out the window at the sea. She had an indifferent expression on her face.

Seeing that she didn't want to talk to him anymore, Eaton had to keep his mouth shut.

For the next few hours, no one spoke.

After about five or six hours, the ship finally reached the island. Molly felt tired.

As soon as the ship docked, someone shouted, "Get off the ship in order!"

Everyone stood up and headed out of the cabin, one by one. There was a lot of noise outside the cabin, car horns,

people's voices...

Molly got up, but Eaton said, "Let's wait until everyone else has left."

She didn't argue with him. They watched the others get off the ship.

After everyone else had left, Eaton led her off the ship.

Stepping out of the cabin, Molly saw several buses parked along the shore. She thought they were going to get on

the bus like everyone else.

However, Eaton led her straight to a black car.

"Mr. Scott," a man in a black suit greeted respectfully.

He opened the car door for Eaton.

Molly noticed that the man treated Eaton with great respect, but she said nothing.

As soon as they got in, the driver started the car and headed for the center of the island.

The island was very beautiful, but there was hardly anyone on the road.

Molly saw a few people on the road, but they all looked tense.

When the car reached the center of the island, Molly saw a very large research base through the window.

She instantly sat up straight, a shocked look in her eyes.

It was an extremely large complex, not just one building, but a block of buildings. And there were several

skyscrapers.

Noticing Molly's interest in the base, Eaton told her, "This is the island's Research and Development base."

Molly snapped back to her senses at Eaton's words. She frowned. Although she did not want to talk to Eaton, she

wanted to know more about the base.

She glanced at Eaton through the corners of her eyes and asked absent-mindedly, "All these buildings belong to the

R& D base?"

Thinking of the two women's conversation on the ship earlier, Molly got suspicious.

Eaton was honest. "Yes, but there are many research projects here, probably dozens of them. The R&D staff can

only move around within defined limits."
