Chapter 39 The Hypocritical Bronte Leon stared at the message, deep in thought. He'd finally found the woman from five years ago, but why did he still feel so uneasy? In the days that followed, Leon tried to get used to Bronte, but every tshe tried to touch him, he instinctively pulled away. It was driving him nuts.
The day of Leon's company's big fashion show caround fast. At New Prosperity Plaza, Leon had invited top models from the industry, and the event was huge.
Tiffany and Sophia showed up at the event. Cameras were flashing non-stop around them. Sophia greeted the reporters warmly, while Tiffany forced a smile and gently tugged at Sophia's sleeve.
"Sophia, I'm still not used to this kind of scene. Let's get out of here." Hearing Tiffany, Sophia picked up the pace, and they quickly headed to the lounge.
Once inside, Tiffany started checking the clothes for the show. Everything was perfect and beautifully made. Sophia, on the other hand, was bored and scrolling through her phone. There were still two hours until the show, and the models were all waiting backstage.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtNoticing Tiffany was done, Sophia asked, "Tiffany, since there's not much going on, wanna take a walk?" Tiffany, knowing her friend's restless nature, agreed since Sophia was clearly bored. They left the lounge and wandered around. Near the runway, Tiffany saw the floor covered with flowers, lights flashing above, and staff bustling around.
The stage design was impressive. Just as Tiffany felt satisfied, a familiar face appeared.
"Long tno see, Tiffany. Didn't expect Mr. Cooper to invite you. Clever move." Bronte sauntered over, swaying her hips, and sneered.
She was wearing an ill-fitting dress, high heels, and bright red lipstick, looking arrogant and overconfident. "Who is this? Her perfis so cheap, it's suffocating!" Sophia pinched her nose, glaring at Bronte with disdain. She'd seen Bronte's photos and heard all about her from Tiffany. So, she didn't think much of Bronte. Especially knowing Leon liked her, Sophia had zero goodwill towards Bronte. Her sarcastic remarks were just to stick up for Tiffany.
Bronte's face darkened, and a nasty look flashed in her eyes. "Miss Brown, have I offended you? Does being a big star give you the right to insult people?" Bronte pretended to be hurt, her expression full of fake shame, and stared at Sophia with teary eyes. Sophia rolled her eyes. Bronte was such a queen.
Tiffany didn't want to get into it with Bronte and pulled Sophia away. "Sophia, let's go somewhere else." But Bronte called out to Tiffany, stepping forward to block her way, and hooked Tiffany's hair with her finger, her gaze particularly provocative. "Tiffany, Barry is your son, right?" "What do you want?" Tiffany glared at her coldly, shaking off Bronte's hand, her eyes flashing with anger. "Nothing, just that Mr. Cooper doesn't seem to know about this, and you have two other kids. If I'm not mistaken, they're triplets, right? You're something else. Too bad Mr. Cooper doesn't like you now. He likes me. Tiffany, from now on, Barry will callmommy." Bronte smirked, crossing her arms and raising her eyebrows at Tiffany. Tiffany frowned, disgusted by her last words. Barry could never call Bronte mommy! Bronte's arrogance was all because of Leon's favoritism. But one thing was strange. Why had she never heard of any connection between Leon and Bronte before? Thinking about it, Tiffany looked at Bronte and said calmly, "Bronte, do you really think Leon's gonna marry you? There's not a single rumor about it out there. Is this thing between you and Mr. Cooper just in your head?" Bronte's eyes flashed with anger, and her face darkened.
"Tiffany, you don't need to stir things up. Mr. Cooper's been looking forfor five years, which proves how he feels about me. And I liked him back then too! If it weren't for your schemes, making him marry you, do you think you would've bechis wife? You know better than anyone how much he despises you." Bronte added, "I suggest you think carefully. It's best if Mr. Cooper doesn't find out about those two kids of yours, or you'll lose them completely!" Bronte's words were full of threats, mocking Tiffany for clinging to Leon. Tiffany clenched her fists, glaring at Bronte. "If you dare touch my kids, I won't let you off!" "Then stay away from Mr. Cooper! Stop trying to seduce him!" Bronte gritted her teeth, looking at Tiffany with resentment.
Sophia couldn't help but step forward, looking Bronte up and down, and clicked her tongue. "Shut your mouth! Listen to yourself, so proud of falling in love with a married man for years. Besides, Tiffany and Leon are already divorced. Stop provoking Tiffany. People who don't know might think you lack confidence and need to find a sense of presence in front of Leon's ex-wife!" Sophia continued, "Bronte, only you would fancy a playboy like Leon. A playboy and a bitch, a perfect match! Tiffany doesn't even care!" Sophia shielded Tiffany behind her, each word hitting Bronte hard. Bronte's face turned gloomy, her expression extremely aggrieved. She was about to lash out but quickly changed to a pitiful look, her attitude humble.
"Tiffany, I know you don't like Mr. Cooper, but you can't let Sophia humiliatelike this! I knew him before you, and I liked him first!" Bronte stubbornly spoke, her eyes turning red.
"I don't want to know about you and Leon. You don't need to act pitiful in front of me. Sophia is right; I don't care about Leon. If you have a thing for him, then be my guest -be a trash collector and take away what I ditch." Tiffany said, pulling Sophia to leave, but a furious voice cfrom behind.

Leon had arrived nearby at spoint and had heard everything Tiffany said. Tiffany called him trash? She didn't care about him? Back then, she had begged his grandmother to make him marry her!
"Mr. Cooper, it's my fault. I shouldn't have mentioned you to Miss Grey." Bronte was good at playing the victim, now looking like a delicate flower.

If it weren't for my grandmother, I wouldn't have married you. The person I like has always been Bronte! Understand?" His eyes were cold, looking at Tiffany with indifference.
"Then I wish Mr. Cooper and Miss Langley happiness. Sophia, let's go." Tiffany smiled, then returned to her indifferent demeanor, turning to leave with Sophia, not noticing how grim Leon's face had become. As they walked away, Sophia patted Tiffany's shoulder and laughed, "Tiffany, we don't care about men like that. I'll introduce you to better guys." Hearing this, Tiffany forced a smile. "Forget it, I can't handle it." Leon stared at Tiffany's back, his grip on Bronte tightening.
"Mr. Cooper, you're hurting me," Bronte said, aggrieved.
Leon let go, his expression awkward. "I'll go check backstage. You can wander around.
Callif you need anything." "Okay." Bronte lowered her head shyly.
As soon as Leon left, a flash of anger appeared in her eyes. She had recorded everything Tiffany and Sophia said on her phone.
Bronte gripped her phone tightly, a sinister smile on her face.
