Chapter 106 Explain, Be Honest
“Okay, Annalise replied.
“At first, I wanted to go out for lunch, but you look quite tired. Let’s go home and eat. You can rest after you finish
eating.” Julian said thoughtfully.
He had planned to book the sky restaurant so they could have lunch and some alone time together.
Afterward, he would bring her to the seaside in the afternoon to relax.
However, seeing how tired she was, he could only plan for another day.
“No. Let’s go out and eat,” Annalise said.
There were some things that she had to clarify. It would be more convenient to speak in public.
“But you look tired,” Julian said.
“I’m fine. I’m okay,” Annalise said.
“Relax. Don’t put pressure on yourself. If you can’t treat him, don’t force yourself. Don’t feel upset about it. either.”
Julian mistakenly thought Annalise was blaming herself for not being able to treat Preston’s illness. He thought it
had placed a heavy psychological burden on her, making her appear tired.
“Okay,” Annalise Barton replied.
“Lie down and rest for a while.” Julian opened the back-seat door of the car and helped Annalise in.
In the past, Annalise was very used to Julian’s gentle and caring touches. But now, she was subconsciously avoiding
them.
Julian was speechless.
Was it his imagination?
Why did he feel like she was avoiding him?
What did Lianne say to her?
No way.
He knew what kind of person Lianne was. She would not judge or comment on other people’s lives.
So what happened?
He immediately asked, “Annie, what’s wrong?”

Annalise shook her head. “I’m fine.”
She had planned to ask the question during dinner later.
After all, they were still in front of Lianne’s villa. It would not be appropriate.
“Then lie down and rest for a while,” Julian said.
They should go to the restaurant first, he thought. He would ask more questions later.
Soon, their car arrived at Jadeborough’s famous revolving restaurant.
They took the elevator to the 66th floor, where the waiter led them into the restaurant.
The revolving sky restaurant lived up to its reputation. It looked beautiful as it rotated.
The sky restaurant would rotate every fifteen minutes, and the scenery in front of them would change.
At the sky restaurant, other than the mermaid-therned interior, the scenery through the window also looked
stunning
To the east, one could see the largest bell tower in Jadeborough.
To the south, colorful flowers could be seen.
The sea could be seen in the north.
A traditional district could be seen in the east, too.
The view would change every fifteen minutes as if they had entered a completely different world.
This restaurant was large, but there were not many people.
–
Because there were only 30 sets per day 15 sets of traditional cuisine and dinner each and they were expensive,
each group of guests was limited to six at most, which cost 13 thousand dollars in total.
This was also to ensure each guest would enjoy the experience to the fullest.
It was said that the restaurant had been fully booked until half a year later.
The reason why the reservation list only went as far as half a year later was that new appointments had been
temporarily declined.
When Julian and Annalise arrived that day, the restaurant was empty.
There were no other customers because this entire building was his private property.
All of them, even the shopping mall downstairs and the traditional district, were his.
The waiter politely led them to their seats and brought the menu over with both hands.
Julian handed the menu to Annalise.
Annalise was too anxious to talk about the matter and was not interested in ordering. She said, “Why don’t you
order?”
“Okay, Julian said and ordered a few dishes.
Annalise frowned. After hesitating, she took out her phone and showed him the photo of him and Lianne.
He asked, “Are you and Lianne ex-lovers?”
“No!” Julian looked at the photo and immediately gave her a definite answer.
That photo must have been taken secretly when Annalise was with her senior, treating Grandma Blake in the
operating theater. Julian had asked Lianne to meet at the stairwell to tell her someone might be able to treat her
brother’s illness.
To carry out this meticulous plan, it must have been his beloved brother, Alexander.
He looked at Annalise and saw the confusion in her eyes. He reached out to take her hand.
Annalise immediately retracted her hand and refused to let him hold it.
Julian felt a little helpless. He explained, “This photo must’ve been taken when you were operating on Madam Blake
in the operating theater. I had asked Lianne to go to the stairwell and tell her someone might be able to treat her
brother’s illness.”
“Why didn’t you tell her through a phone call?” Annalise blurted out.
As soon as she finished asking, she realized that she felt like she was interrogating Julian.
She did not want it to be this way. It felt very much like a wife accusing her husband of cheating.
Julian looked at Annalise’s impatient expression and smiled.
Did she care about him?
Because Annalise cared, when she saw the photo of him and Lianne standing together, she felt jealous, upset, and
bothered. Was that why she did not let him hold her hand and rejected his touch?
Thinking of this, Julian felt even happier, and his smile widened.
Seeing Julian’s expression, Annalise became even more unhappy. She said calmly, “Forget I asked.”
Forget it, she thought. There was no need to ask.

Annalise had passed the information about Lianne’s brother to her senior. It seemed that there was no need for her
to stay in Jadeborough.
As for the Moonlight Group that her mother had passed on to her, she could get it back herself.
Back then, when she registered to be married to Julian, she had done so during a moment of madness.
She could treat it as a dream. When she woke up, everything would still be the same.
Julian stood up and sat beside Annalise.
Annalise felt disgusted. She had already gotten up, not wanting to sit next to him.
If he and Lianne were lovers, she only wanted to stay far away from him.
This was the kind of relationship she hated the most. One that was ambiguous. A relationship between
people who did not love each other.
Julian looked at Annalise and explained, “Because I happened to be in the hospital at that time, I chose to tell her in
person.”
Annalise did not believe him.
She felt he must have spent a long time choosing his words before saying them to her.
“I wanted to make it clear to her in person so as not to get her hopes up. I told her to give it a try. If it doesn’t. work,
she should let it go,” Julian continued.
Annalise asked in disgust, “Did you have to look at each other so affectionately, then?”
“There was no such thing.” Julian complained. “She was only excited because she thought there was hope for her
brother.”
“What about you?” Annalise asked.
She did not know why her emotions were running high, and she was angry for no reason.
“We’re friends and business partners, so I didn’t look as cold as I usually do.” Julian tried to reach for Annalise’s
hand again.
Annalise felt truly disgusted. “Don’t touch me!”
“Nothing is going on between Lianne and me. If there were, I wouldn’t have gone to Horington, and I wouldn’t have
agreed to Grandpa and the Barton family’s marriage proposal. Annie, I’m not someone who would lead any woman
on. My mother’s death taught me that men can be poor, but they must not fool around with others’ emotions.”
When Julian mentioned his mother, he became emotional.
