Avery’s answer stunned Hayden for a few seconds.

“Yes.”

Elliot held her by the shoulders comforted her. “Don’t blame yourself. I’m sure he can handle it.”
“He might be smart for his age, but he’s still a child. I’ll find a time to apologize to him later.” Avery felt even more
guilty. “It’s all your fault, Elliot.”
