Chapter 383 A Message to the Sea

“I didn’t expect you to be bold enough to hurt someone” Beth said coldly. “I know you're not happy about this,
but we don’t have much time. Kasen could walk in at any moment. If he finds Sam dead here, neither of us will
make it out alive. Sending a message might be your only chance of rescue. But whoever comes has to reach the
ship before the auction begins- and they'll need a lot of money. These auctions don’t ccheap.”
At the mention of the high seas, Natalie froze.
Out here, there was no law.
Someone connected to Sharon, someone who knew her-her mind immediately went to Jensen.
But the last tshe saw him, Jensen had been badly injured and lying in a hospital bed. She didn’t know if
Baron had found the Witch Doctor to treat him, or even if he was awake yet.
Could she really gamble her life on Jensen?
If she sent the message to Baron instead, Beth's plan to frSam for running away with Sharon would fall
apart. After all, Baron was her husband in name, but he had nothing to do with Sharon.
The choice twisted her gut.
Beth saw her hesitation and snapped, “Natalie, there's no time!“.
“Fine. I'll give you a number. He's Sharon's ex-husband-Jensen, the CEO of Luke Corp. If anyone can cto this
auction, it's him.”
Natalie had no choice left. She could only gamble.
Beth's eyes lit with approval. “Givethe number.”

Natalie recited Jensen’s phone number.
Beth searched Sam's body and quickly pulled out her phone. She typed out a message:
“Your wife Sharon is on a cruise ship in international waters. She says she knows where Natalie is. If you want to
know, bring money to the auction and redeem her.”
She showed it to Natalie.

And Natalie understood.

There was bad blood between Sharon and herself, and the people running this operation surely knew it. If the
message cthis way, Jensen-guilty and indebted-would have every reason to rush over.
Natalie gave a small nod.
Beth hit send and pocketed the phone. Then she said in a low voice, “I'll throw Sam and Sharon into the sea.
Sam's already dead-down there, she’s just fish food. As for Sharon, | can see she’s no good. She gave up her
own escape just to try to kill you. She’s unconscious now, but once she hits the water, she’ll wake up. Whether
she lives or not will be up to fate.”
Beth had noticed how much Natalie valued human life. She didn’t want her to shoulder too much of this filth.
Sam's death had been unavoidable. Sharon's fate-well, this was the most merciful ending she could give.
Even if she knew that in the vast ocean Sharon’s chance of survival was almost nothing, she kept that to herself.
Natalie didn’t need more shadows on her soul.
“Are the blankets in every cabin the same?” Natalie asked quietly.
Beth gave her a puzzled look. “Yes. Why?”
“This one is soaked with blood. It'll be noticed. Bringa clean blanket from Sam’s cabin and I'll swap them. |
can scrub what's here, but the smell... there's nothing I can do about that.”
“I can handle it.”
Beth pulled a tiny porcelain vial from her pocket and handed it over.
“Once you've cleaned up, sprinkle this into the air. In less than ten seconds, the smell will vanish.”
Natalie's chest tightened.
So this was how they covered their crimes. Efficient. Routine.
In that moment, the truth hit her hard.
