He went on to tell her everything that had happened since leaving Ocevaris-including how she’d been poisoned

When he finished, Natalie's brows knit tightly together.

“Why would they go that far? And Rachel-what was she even after?”

“We'll find out,” Baron said calmly. “Shauna’s interrogating her now. We'll have answers soon. As for the rest,

we'll investigate step by step. But first, once we're back in Ocean City, you need a full medical exam. | don’t

want to miss anything.”

He sounded firm-almost anxious.

Natalie nodded slowly.
