Chapter 278 I Was Winning Your Heart

Hope smiled and greeted her fellow celebrities in first class after she got on the plane. Then, she swept her eyes across the
cabin, searching for Maia.
“Who are you looking for, Hope?” Wesley asked. “Hurry up and sit down. I’m going to
business class with your assistant now.”
“Wait a minute, Wesley.” Hope stopped him and asked, “Have you seen my sister?”
He shook his head, “I didn’t see Ms. Maia.”
“Isn’t this a private plane booked by The Horizon Awards organizers? Maia is a special guest. She should’ve been on the plane
with us!” Hope was confused.
Jennifer stood up and whispered, “Don’t you know what happened, Hope?”
“What do you mean?” Hope looked at her puzzlingly. Jennifer said softly, “Mr. Cedric’s here too.”
“Huh?” Hope said shockingly.
“Don’t you think this plane has fewer first–class seats? In fact, it’s narrower.” That was when Hope realized she was right. Then,
Jennifer pointed to a sliding door and said, “I saw Cedric carrying Maia inside earlier.”
Hope followed her gaze and stared at the sliding door. She was even more puzzled now.
What was going on? Did Maia and Cedric get back together? Impossible... Hope blinked and
found it hard to believe.

“I’ll wager they installed the sliding door because of Maia. She was sleeping. Cedric must have done it so we won’t disturb her
slumber,” Jennifer deduced.
“Was my sister asleep?” Hope asked. Jennifer nodded in response.
“So, that’s what went down.” It hit Hope that Maia had not got back together with him. She was simply asleep and did not know
what Cedric had done.
What was going to happen after Maia woke up? Cedric might not be easy to deal with, but Maia was no pushover either!

Hope shuddered at the thought.
At that moment, Maia was sleeping soundly on the bed behind the sliding door. Cedric sat by the bed, drawn in by the woman
next to him. His laptop had long gone into power–saving mode because he had completely lost his interest in work.

Maia could hear buzzing. She thought she was still dreaming when she opened her eyes drowsily and saw Cedric. She had
always liked staying in bed and that was what she did.
Cedric watched on as she turned around and clutched the blanket. She looked so adorable that
he smiled.

Maia caught his smile, felt around the blanket, and realized something was not right. She bolted upright the next moment, all
traces of sleepiness vanished. She stared at him, eyes wide.
“What are you doing here? Where am I?”
She looked around and deduced that she was on a plane. It was eight o’clock when she left her house for the airport, but it was
already almost ten o’clock now!
All she could remember was that she fell asleep in the car, but she had no idea what happened next, including the boarding
process.
“You were asleep.” Cedric chuckled and explained.
“Duh. The Horizon Awards organizer booked a private plane exclusively for Starlight Entertainment crews. How did you get in
here?”
“Sunny Videos was the organizer and HL Corporation was the biggest sponsor.”
That was when Maia understood the whole story. “You’re despicable, Cedric!” She stood up and kept a distance from him. Then,
she lowered her gaze and checked on her clothes. She was
relieved to find that her clothes were untouched.
“Despicable?” He raised his brow and glanced at her.
“How else would I describe you? HL Corporation had never bothered with the entertainment industry until you acquired Sunny
Videos.

“Then, you got involved with The Horizon Awards and became its organizer as well as sponsor. Are you going to tell me that
there was no ulterior motive behind all of this?”
He chuckled and said nonchalantly, “I was winning your heart, honey. It was an honest and bold move. There was nothing
despicable about it.”
“How many times do I have to repeat myself?! I’m not your honey! I couldn’t give a rat’s ass about your intention, but you’ll make
it my business if you have any funny ideas about Starlight Entertainment!”
With that, she walked straight to the sliding door. At that moment, the plane flew through some turbulence. Maia lost her footing
and fell backward. Cedric reached out and caught her. He wanted to pull her to his chest, but the plan lurched. Both of them
ended up falling on their backs!

thud. Maia was stunned. A flight attendant came in before she
could react.
The flight attendant was shocked to see what happened when the sliding doors opened. She lowered her head and pretended
she hadn’t seen anything, and proceeded to close the door. The celebrities in first class saw everything and couldn’t help but
smile quietly.
How could they not find it endearing to see their CEO lying on top of Cedric?
Jennifer tapped Hope on her shoulder and said, “Did you see it, Hope? Maia and Cedric looked quite close and loving. Looks like
there’s hope for the warring couple, after all!”
Hope paused for a few seconds before saying, “D–Do you think so? I–I seem to smell conflict. They truly live up to the title
‘warring couple.“”
Everything seemed to have frozen in time behind the sliding door. Cedric frowned and endured the pain from his back. He was
more concerned about Maia, “Are you hurt?”

That was when Maia snapped back to reality. She shook her head, got off of him, and stood up. Cedric continued to lie on the
ground.
“A–Are you not getting up?” Maia looked at him and asked.
It was a loud thud just now. Was he wrecked by the fall?
Maia was still wondering when he said seductively, “Aren’t you going to help me up, honey?” He was just insufferable!
