Chapter 346 I Want Them All

Gwendolyn averted her gaze, refusing to acknowledge him, while a solitary tear trickled down from the corner of

her eye, silently seeping into her hair.

What Charles wanted was something she could never give, nor would she ever be able to provide

She would only love Cedrick alone for the rest of her life!

Charles slumped on the side, a mix of tears and laughter escaping him. In his peripheral vision, he glimpsed

Gwendolyn reclining on the sofa behind him. A deep crimson bruise marked her once pristine, snow-white neck,

strikingly conspicuous.

The bruise on her neck was the result of him strangling her.

As his rationality resurfaced, he apologized, “Sorry, Gwen. I didn’t mean to hurt you.” Filled with remorse, he

extended his hand, yearning to touch the red bruise on her neck.

Gwendolyn dodged him and turned around.

Charles’ fingers momentarily stiffened, but within seconds, his face hardened once more. He firmly grasped her

shoulders, compelling her to meet his gaze.

His previous aura of coldness and malevolence resurfaced. “Gwen, I’ll give you another chance. Do you want to

keep the child in your womb or save Cedrick’s life?”

“Why do you always have to force me to make choices, Charles?” Gwendolyn shot daggers at him, gritting her

teeth.

He arched his brows and smirked. “Because it’s fun, isn’t it? Gwen, if you opt for Cedrick, I expect you to go to the

hospital and abort the child. We’ll proceed as planned, and I’ll find a way to silence those wealthy tycoons.

However, if you choose to keep the child, I can release you from our engagement and set you free, but Cedrick will

have to die.”

A corner of his lips quirked up. He wanted to see how important Cedrick was in her life.

As she glared at him, Gwendolyn caught a fleeting glimpse of Nico entering through a window nearby.

She opened her eyes, and a cold glint flashed across them. “Charles, I refuse to choose. I want them both!” After

she finished speaking, a muffled thud resounded within the room.

Nico, holding a golf club from the corner, forcefully struck the back of Charles head.

Charles instantly fost consciousness, collapsing to the ground.

Noticing the injury on Gwendolyn’s neck, Nico dropped the golf club and rushed over to check on her. “I’m sorry,

I’m late!”

Gwendolyn responded with a comforting grin. “It’s okay. I’m all right.”

Nico breathed a sigh of relief, casting a glance at Charles, who was lying on the carpet. “What are you going to do

next now that Charles found out you’re pregnant?”

As she gazed at the unconscious Charles sprawled on the ground, Gwendolyn’s mind delved into deep

contemplation “Gerhardt told me the antidote for the super virus is in Charles’ hand. Where do you think

he could have possibly kept it?”

Nico lowered his head and went deep in thought.

Gwendolyn paused as she pondered before adding. “Considering he has been staying at Alzer Palace, it’s likely he

would find it safest to keep the antidote there. It could be concealed within his personal chambers Perhaps tonight

is a perfect opportunity for me to retrieve the antidote.”

“Tonight?” Nico expressed his concern. “But there’s a banquet being held in the palace, and it will be crowded with

people.”

other

“With so many people and distractions, we can blend in and carry out our mission discreetly. At any time, the

palace guards would be vigilant, making it nearly impossible for us to succeed,” she explained.

Nico was conflicted, but he knew that was the last resort Gwendolyn could think of.

With Charles now aware of her pregnancy, Gwendolyn knew he would tighten his grip on her. Moreover, they

understood that if they failed to retrieve the antidote tonight, their chances of securing it through

other means would be greatly diminished.

“All right. Stealing the antidote is too risky, especially considering your pregnancy. Let me take care of it instead,”

Nico said firmly with an unwavering gaze.

“You?” She frowned and swiftly declined the offer. “Absolutely not! The crown princess publicly announced my

wedding date with Charles, which means everyone is aware of our relationship. I can easily enter the Alzer Palace

without raising suspicion. But you, on the other hand, would face far greater risks if you were to go.”

“But Ms. Gwendolyn, have you considered what will happen to Charles here? I only managed to knock him

unconscious, but he’s trained and has an excellent physique. He’ll probably regain consciousness soon. If you’re not

by his side, he’ll immediately sense something is amiss!” he analyzed.

“But…” Gwendolyn hesitated as she was worried about his safety.

“Let’s not argue about this anymore, all right?” he said, a determined expression on his face. “Having you here to

keep Charles in check gives me a better chance of success than if you were to go alone. Trust me; I’ll do everything

in my power, even if it means risking my life, to retrieve the antidote!”

“No! I won’t let you risk your life and get caught. Even if we can’t retrieve the antidote tonight, as long as we still

have a chance, we can find alternative solutions. There’s only one Nico in this world, and I’ll not allow

you to put your life at risk!” she exclaimed.

Nico locked eyes with her, profoundly touched by the sincerity reflected in her gaze. Gratitude swelled in his heart,

overwhelming him.

He cast his gaze downward, tears welling up in his eyes. “Thank you. Apart from Boss, you’re the kindest person

I’ve ever known.”

Gwendolyn’s tone turned even more earnest when Nico mentioned Cedrick. “Though Ceddy always teased you, he

has always regarded you as family. If he xo.com fast updatewere in my shoes, I believe he would prioritize

your safety too.”

With his head hung low, Nico gently rubbed his nose, trying to hold back his urge to tear.

After giving his shoulder a reassuring pat, Gwendolyn shifted into serious planning mode. “Once you’ve retrieved

the antidote, find a way to return to Chanaea and bring it straight to Salinsburgh. Don’t worry

about me!”

Nico was taken aback by her decision “What about you? You’re already under confinement, and now you’re

pregnant! Charles is a madman, and you’ll be in danger if he loses control!”

“He will not harm me. The injury on my neck was an accident. Charles will never kill me.” she replied

Nico kept mum, overwhelmed with mixed feelings.

Gwendolyn did not give him a chance to dwell on it further. “Don’t delay any longer; go quickly! And please, take

care of yourself!”

“All right!” Nico replied, collecting his thoughts and making his way out through the window.

After three days of being unconscious, Cedrick finally woke up.

As he gradually regained consciousness, he blinked in confusion. His attempt to touch his eyes was met with the

sensation of bandages, and he became aware that his head was heavily wrapped in thick bandages as well.

“Stop moving!” Treyton exclaimed. “You still have an IV drip on your hand! Stay calm!”

Cedrick lowered his hand and sat up, his mind gradually clearing. He immediately asked, “How long have I been

asleep?”

“Three days. You couldn’t take the oral medication since you were unconscious, so Kieran switched to intravenous

treatment. Do you still have a headache?” Treyton asked.

Cedrick attentively assessed his condition and shook his head, then followed up with another question, “How’s

Gwenny doing?”

Treyton fell silent for a moment.

Today, Erihal released several pieces of international news.

One of them stated that the adopted son of the crown princess, Vidar, would hold a wedding with. Gwendolyn in

seven days.

Treyton had blocked the news from being spread in Chanaea.

Otherwise, there would be a backlash from keyboard warriors criticizing Gwendolyn for getting married overseas

while being engaged to someone else in the country.

Treyton had a hard time explaining the turn of events to Cedrick.

“Treyton? Why aren’t you saying anything?” Cedrick waited anxiously for a response, but when none came, his

worry for Gwendolyn intensified. “Has something happened to Gwenny? I need to leave the hospital now! I want to

fly to Erihal today!”
