Chapter 254

At the mention of his ex-lover, Liam smiled bitterly. "I'm too busy. No woman will fall in love with a busy

man like me." What can I do? Women these days want their partners to go to them immediately with

just a call.

On the other hand, Liam had to attend to Isaac whenever the latter called, so he didn't have time to

keep his partner company if he had one. Back then, his girlfriend broke up with him because he

couldn't keep her company when she was sick. At the thought of this, he gulped down his wine.

Isaac arched his brow. "Alright. If you have a girlfriend in the future, I'll give you more free time."

Hearing that, Liam was astounded. "Please don't fire me, President Arnold. I'll work harder. I don't need

a girlfriend."

Isaac picked up some food from the plate. "I didn't say I would fire you. I just think you need company

as well."

At that instant, Liam felt that Isaac had changed. He seems to be a little more compassionate now.

When Patricia returned home, she opened the front door and saw two bodyguards standing in the yard.

Noticing that Patricia had returned, Sylvie went over and whispered, "They've been standing there like

two logs, Mommy."

Patricia turned to look at the bodyguards at the door and reckoned that they indeed looked like two

logs. Wait a minute. Does Sylvie know who they are?

Ignoring the guards, she shuffled forward with the yarn in her hands as she had to get prepared and

knit a sweater for Isaac later. When she was about to enter the living room, the bodyguards finally

called out, "Miss Patricia!"

Patricia turned to look at them. "Did my grandfather send you here?"

One of the bodyguards replied, "Yes, Old Mr. Aniston sent us here to bring you and the kids to the

Aniston Residence."

With a frown, Patricia asked, "Does my grandfather want to see them?"

Recalling that her grandfather was stern with her when he found out she was pregnant, she wasn't

willing to go over.

Although she had previously promised that she would bring the kids to see him, she didn't mean it. She

would be worried if she did so. That was because she didn't want her kids to be despised or mocked.

They were not only her kids but also the best gifts she had ever had.

"Yes, Miss Patricia."

Patricia gazed at her kids. Her sons were in the living room, totally unperturbed. She wondered what

they were doing with the computers. Anyway, she could never figure out what they did. They had told

her before that they could earn some money by doing some coding. Since her sons loved doing it, she

would support them unconditionally.

She put down the yarn and eyed her kids. "Your great-grandpa would like to see you, darlings. Would

you like to meet up with him?"

The kids had never seen any of their mother's relatives before, so they had no idea who their great-

grandfather was.

Because Hendrick had requested to see the kids, it was hard for Patricia to turn him down. After all, her

grandfather used to treat her very well.

Sylvie nodded repeatedly. "Sure thing!"

The young girl didn't even know what a great-grandfather was, but being an outgoing child, she

enjoyed meeting new people. Scott and Stellan glanced at their mother and announced unanimously,

"It's up to you, Mommy."

They would tag along if Patricia wanted them to see Hendrick. After giving it some thought, Patricia

reckoned that they'd better meet up with Hendrick on this day, for such a meet-up would take place

sooner or later anyway.

"Wait for us outside. We'll get changed and go with you."

The bodyguards replied at the same time, "Roger that."

Seeing that those dull-looking men were gone, Sylvie turned to her mother. "They called you Miss

Patricia, Mommy. Are you a wealthy lady or something?"

The kids had figured out that their mother must be from a prestigious background, for she was well-

mannered and elegant. Even though she had never brought this up, they had a feeling that she used to

live a comfortable life.

Patricia replied with a smile, "I'm the oldest child in my family, so they call me Miss Patricia out of

courtesy."

She stroked Sylvie's face. "Be a good girl and behave yourself when you see your great-grandfather."
