A few days later.

Joyce went to work on the top floor office of Cloud Bay Tower as usual.

In the past few days, she had been going back and forth between the office and the construction site, held a few meetings, and

had now got a preliminary proposal ready.

As she walked out of the elevator, she received a call from Karl.

She didn’t want to draw attention to herself, and she purposely walked to the end of the corridor before picking up the phone.

She wore a Bluetooth headset and carried her phone in her pocket.

"Joyce, the police just released a report about the death of Mr. Walsh. There are no lethal drugs in his blood, but only narcotic pain

relievers." Karl said.

"I remember they had the sresult for Stephanie's blood sample." Joyce lowered her voice, "But at the time, Stephanie was

taking pain pills because of her advanced lung cancer. So it didn't get much attention."

"True, but the younger Mr. Walsh insisted that his brother never took painkillers. So the cause of death of this Mr. Walsh was

absolutely identical to Stephanie's."

"What's next?" Joyce asked.

"In order not to arouse Otis's suspicion, | will close the case temporarily as accidental death. We can say perhaps the older Mr.

Walsh might be taking pain medication in private or to be high on drugs, and then just close the case like that. However, | have a

feeling that the younger Mr. Walsh would not just let go easily. Joyce, you have to be careful these days."

"Okay, | got it." Joyce responded, "By the way, have you gotten the bugging program that | mentioned to you two days ago?"

"Yeah, but are you really sure? Don't take risks easily."

Karl sounded a little worried.

"I'll try my best, and | will never force it without the right opportunity.” Joyce said.

"Well, I'll send it to you later." After Karl finished, he hung up the phone.

Joyce looked around as if nothing had happened, and after she confirmed no one was around, she returned to her office and got

back to work.

It was just past four in the afternoon.

Her phone rang, and the number was 0002! She frowned. Otis had been so quiet these days and did not cto bother her.

She picked up the phone and raised her voice, "Mr. Robertson, is there anything?"

"What? | can’t call you if | have nothing? I've been busy for a few days. | went to Alvonia and cback, and you never called me.

You're really hurting my heart." Otis' evil voice cthrough clearly.

Joyce frowned deeper, so these days Otis was busy with his own business in Alvonia, no wonder he did not cto make her any

trouble.

"I do have something to see Mr. Robertson." She said, "Mr. Robertson, about the security design of the underground base, we have,

in the past few days, worked overtand drafted a preliminary plan. We are about to send it to Mr. Robertson to see if it can meet

the requirements."

"Oh, Ms. Knowles is so efficient. There is no rush. You can take your tso that | can also contact you more often." Otis didn’t

seem to care about the progress of the project and was all about flirting with her.

Joyce pretended not to hear him, "Mr. Robertson, don't you have an office downtown? If it's convenient for you, I'll cover and

show you the proposal.”

"Why do you have to go to my office? How boring that must be. Tonight I'm going back to the military ..." He suddenly paused and

then continued, "Tonight there is a dinner party. Tomorrow night, let's go karaoke together, okay?"

Disgust was all over Joyce's face. Obviously, they were talking about work, so how would they talk about work in a place like

karaoke?
