Chapter 274 Carlisle went to the wardrobe to grab a clean set of clothes before heading to the bathroom.
It wasn't until the sound of running water cfrom the bathroom that Katrina lifted her head and put down the ice pack. As soon as she stood up, James blocked her path.
"Mrs. Zachman, Mr. Zachman has askedto stay with you. You're not allowed to leave the bedroom," James said politely, but there was no hint of concession in his tone.

James remained composed, smiling gently. "Mrs. Zachman, you must be joking. Mr. Zachman only wants to ease the tension between you two. He doesn't want a divorce. He's not trying to imprison you. If you're willing to humble yourself, I believe Mr. Zachman will overlook what's happened recently." Katrina let out a sarcastic laugh.
It was truly laughable. After everything Carlisle had done to her, they still expected her to bow her head and apologize.
A cold shiver ran through Katrina, but James' words were more of a warning than advice. He was clearly letting her know that leaving the villa today was out of the question. Carlisle would not let her go.
Right now, they were still talking to her civilly. However, things could escalate beyond just being confined in this villa if she continued to refuse cooperation.
"Mrs. Zachman, though it's not really my place to say, I feel I should still offer sadvice," James began. "You and Mr. Zachman have been married for many years, and there's still affection between you.
"Even though Mr. Zachman may not have always considered your feelings in smatters, he does care for you. Otherwise, he wouldn't go through all this trouble." A flicker of disdain crossed James' eyes as he continued, mentioning Shirley, "I can't deny there is spast history with that woman, but if Mr. Zachman truly still had feelings for her, why didn't he divorce you sooner and marry her? "Mr. Zachman is only being considerate of her because of the past. In reality, the one he truly cares about is you." James looked at her, then added, "You've been with the Zachman family for years. You know how M Zachman treated you. Are you really going to throw everything away just because of anger? Wouldn't that just make it easier for someone else? "Heed my advice. Don't keep fighting with Mr. Zachman. What you can hold onto `is what matters most. Even if you don't care about yourself, you should care about Ms. Salford. She's depending on you. If y we truly anger Mr. Zachman, the consequences..." James didn't finish his sentence, but Katrina understood what he meant.
She remained cold and sarcastic as James spoke, but when he mentioned Clara, a hint of panic and worry flashed in her eyes. She wasn't afraid of what Carlisl@might do to her, but what if he hurt Clara?

He had worked for the Zachman family for years, and he knew Carlisle's true feelings. Carlisle had feelings for Shirley because of past regrets, but the one he truly wanted had always been Katrina. James knew all too well how difficult it was to mend Katrina's broken heart. He could only do so much to help Carlisle.
He hoped Katrina and Carlisle could make up. If they divorced and Shirley took over the Zachman family, it would be a disaster. With uneasy thoughts, Katrina sat back down. Without Carlisle's permission, there was no way she could leave. When Carlisle cout of the bathroom and saw Katrina sitting quietly on the bed, his expression softened.
"Mr. Zachman," James greeted politely.
Carlisle waved him off and walked the ice over to Katrina. Toticed tha from her her hand, he noticed the redness on her neck had faded slightly, and he let out a sigh of relief.
