Chapter 275 "I'll apply the medicine for you," Carlisle said.
As soon as the words left his mouth, James had already handed over the ointment.
"I can do it myself," Katrina replied, reaching for it, but Carlisle stopped her.

Katrina clenched her fist, turned her head away, and didn't say anything further.
Carlisle's expression softened as he gently applied the medicine to her neck. His fingertip brushed her skin, and the cold sensation made Katrina shiver and instinctively recoil. She had no choice but to grit her teeth and force herself not to pull away.
After finishing with the ointment, James handed Carlisle a fresh ice pack.
Carlisle held it in one hand, pressing it against the swollen side of his face, while extending his other hand toward James to let him treat the burn on his hand.
The burn had already swelled up, and sareas had even formed blisters. James carefully pricked the blisters, applied burn cream, and wrapped it with gauze to prevent the ointment from being wiped off.
Once done, James wisely packed up the supplies and left the room, leaving only the two of them behind.
Katrina felt incredibly uncomfortable, like a hedgehog with all her defenses raised. She immediately wanted to get up and put sdistance between herself and Carlisle.

A hint of fear rflashed in Katrina's eyes as she saw the desire in his gaze and felt the heat of his breath brush against her cheek. She pushed against him with her hands, but Carlisle held her wrist firmly, pinning her arms above her head. Cóntent Carlisle's eyes burned with intensity as he said, "Katrina, bear a child for me." Fear and resistance filled Katrina's heart, but she couldn't hear anything wrong in his words.
As he leaned in to kiss her, she turned her face away and said through gritted teeth, "I'm not feeling well. I need to rest." She didn't dare outright refuse him, fearing it might provoke Carlisle and lead to him forcing himself on her.
Carlisle's face flashed with
disappointment, but then, his gaze fell on the red marks visible on her neck, and a flickerlor guilt crossed his neck and features. He released her wrist and slowly pushed himself off her. Katrina let out a sigh of relief and quickly scrambled off the bed.
Carlisle didn't notice the tension on her face. He smiled faintly and said, "Since you're not feeling well, you should rest here tonight. I'll check on you tomorrow morning." He paused before continuing, "But think carefully about what I said. I'm not joking. We should've had a child by now. I had been thinking about Wren..." Carlisle paused, then smiled. "It's not too late now. Everything can still be done."
He kneeled beside the bed, reaching up to gently touch Katrina's cheek. "I -or want a child with you. You know I'm child with not patient, so I won't give you much tto think. You'd better make your mind and givean answer soon." sŵ
